Food Pantry began in 1980 to provide food at Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays for senior citizens in Washoe County, identified to be “in need” due to financial or physical reasons.
Today, Food Pantry, supports approximately 300 seniors, including 72 monthly deliveries to home-bound individuals. Monthly, seniors are able to pick up their two bags of groceries and Essentials Kits at Washoe County Senior Center on 9th Street. Books, magazines and videos are often included
Community members are referred from the Washoe County Senior Services, Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, Elder Abuse Program of Washoe County and the State of Nevada.
