Who We Are
Assistance League of Atlanta is an all volunteer charitable organization that addresses the needs of low-income children lacking proper school clothing; displaced families living in shelters, cars and motels; indigent new mothers; children traumatized by crisis situations; patients recovering from devastating injuries; and promising students who lack the resources to pursue higher education.
In the fiscal year ended May 31, 2024, our programs helped more than 59,000 children and adults rebuild their lives and become more self-sufficient. Since 1982, we have served more than 995,000 children and adults, at a cost of more than $9.8 million. Through philanthropic programs and a network of community partners, we provide food for school children, new clothing, household goods, hygiene kits, comfort items and educational aid to those affected by poverty, abuse, and homelessness.
Our programs are funded by the sale of donated clothing and household goods in our Attic Treasures Thrift Shop in Chamblee, Georgia, as well as monetary donations and grants. We return more than 70% of our income to the communities we serve, primarily because we have NO PAID STAFF.
