Operation School Bell^®

This year, Assistance League Bakersfield is proudly celebrating the 63rd Anniversary of Operation School Bell. This Program was created by our first chapter president, Ruth Ann Montgomery and is now the signature philanthropic program for all Assistance League Chapters.

Operation Hugs

Provides teddy bears for children in trauma situations.

Operation Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to provide funds to help cover college costs for tuition, books and supplies for graduating high school seniors.

Operation Share

Shares items not used in our operations with other appropriate philanthropic groups.

The Bargain Box Thrift Shop is our primary source of funding for our philanthropic programs. We are proud of our reputation as one of the best and friendliest thrift shops in Bakersfield. Our members work hard to make sure the merchandise is always good quality, clean, and priced fairly.
