Assistance League^® of the Bay Area was awarded $10,000 from the United Way of Greater Houston Hurricane Harvey Task Force.

Funds are to be used for the chapter’s philanthropic program, Operation Support Our Schools.  This program, in partnership with Communities In Schools – Bay Area, supports fifteen campuses in the Clear Creek and Dickinson Independent School Districts.  In addition, the committee recently voted to expand their services to four campuses – Bay Colony Elementary (Dickinson ISD), Clear Lake High School (Clear Creek ISD), Hughes Road Elementary (Dickinson ISD), and Ross Elementary (Clear Creek ISD).

The awarded grant monies are to be specifically used for five schools located in Harris County:  Brookside Intermediate, Clear Brook High School, Clear Lake High School, Clear Path Alternative School, and McWhirter Elementary. The grant will provide nutritional support, dental and vision services, and other student-specific needs such as the purchase of coats, jackets, blankets, pillows, lice kits, and required athletic or magnet school attire.
