On Saturday, February 8, 2020, Assistance League® of the Bay Area hosted its annual fundraising event, Mamma Mia! The Party at Lakewood Yacht Club.
An incredible amount of planning and flawless execution by the committee members, made this evening a memorable one.
As attendees arrived at Lakewood Yacht Club, they had an opportunity to mix and mingle as well as purchase reverse raffle tickets before the drawing began. Many entered the ballroom and quickly strolled over to the selfie booth, capturing a fun memory of the evening.
Donna and the Dynamos kicked off the festivities with a rousing medley of songs, motivating people to rush to the dance floor and actively participate. Popular-area band, Password returned, providing fantastic entertainment. Rita Baldwin, Texas City ISD LMSW Social Worker, Homeless/Foster Care Liaison, and Dr. Greg Smith, Clear Creek ISD Superintendent of Schools, shared compelling testimonies of how our chapter changes lives. The Reach for the Stars campaign, donations towards the chapter’s six philanthropic programs, experienced an all-time high. Fifty-seven mystery boxes, valued at $50 and $100, sold out in a record-breaking eighteen minutes.
This year’s reverse raffle winners were: Linda Byrd who won the $5,000 gold coins grand prize; Belinda Scheurich won the second prize, a Levian 14K gold pendant, and earrings; Pamela O’Rourke won the third prize, a $2500 14K gold ring with rubies and diamonds, and Kathy Houser won the fourth prize, a $1500 Champagne Lunch for Eight at Lewis Jewelers with a $100 gift card for each guest.
