The Glass Slipper Award is given to a nonmember individual, company, or group for significant contributions to Operation Cinderella. The chapter board unanimously selected Clear Creek Independent School District as this year’s recipient of the Glass Slipper Award and presented it at the May Annual Meeting and Luncheon.
Clear Creek ISD has allocated Assistance League® of the Bay Area a space at their Learner Support Center, the re-purposed, former Clear Lake High School Ninth Grade Center. This room has been designated for the chapter’s philanthropic programs and houses supplies for Assault Survivor Kits® and Operation School Bell®. Operation Cinderella inventory is kept there and during the season of prom, attire selection is transformed into a boutique-style shopping experience for our senior girls and military ball attendees.
This donated space allows the chapter to store program inventory which eliminated the need to pay for climate-controlled but not air-conditioned storage space. Additionally moving these items to another location, allowed the Resale Shop to expand its sales floor space, providing an enhanced shopping experience for our customers, and allowing the chapter to realize profits from the shop.
It comes full circle as those increased profits fund our philanthropic programs.
Dr. Eric Williams, Clear Creek ISD Superintendent of Schools, accepted the award.
