In partnership with the JCPenney Baybrook, League City, and Pasadena stores, Assistance League of the Bay Area^®‘s signature program, Operation School Bell^®, allowed 1700 students to shop and select school-appropriate clothes, undergarments, and shoes. They also received a hygiene kit with shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and for older students, deodorant.

The next phase of the program begins where members will select items based on the student’s documented preferences at Target, and others will deliver the purchases to the campuses.

The chapter supports nine school districts – Clear Creek, Deer Park, Dickinson, Friendswood, Galveston, La Porte, Santa Fe, and Texas City Independent School Districts and The Mosbacher Odyssey Academy, a charter public school with locations in El Lago and Galveston Island.
