The National Coalition on Domestic Violence website shares 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 4 men in the United States have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner, In Texas specifically, 40.1% of Texas women and 34.9% of Texas men experience intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner rape, or intimate partner stalking in their lifetimes.

Assistance League^® of the Bay Area supports our Assault Survivor Kit^® philanthropic program partners, Bay Area Turning Point, The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, Memorial Hermann Southeast, and UTMB Health by providing kits containing clothing, undergarments, flip-flops, and a hygiene kit. These are provided to adults and children forced to give up their clothing post-assault for evidentiary purposes.

For the 2022-2023 fiscal year, three hundred nineteen of these kits, assembled by the committee members, were delivered to their facilities.
