In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Assisteens® of the Bay Area are deeply committed to helping young residents feel safe and secure as they enter a shelter.
Through the auxiliary’s Project Snuggle program, 180 fleece blankets will be delivered to our partners.
Half of those on Monday, October 2nd, were taken to The Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Assisteens Chris Comin and Sidney Zamora were on hand for the delivery.
After the monthly membership meeting, teens worked on creating the blankets, others checked out the kits to work on at home, and many participated in the summer project, where they committed to making up to two blankets, coinciding with the summer hiatus of June, July, and August.
