Chapter members collaborate with Assisteens® of the Bay Area from August through May to package 900 meals delivered to three school districts after assembly is complete.
Students in Deer Park ISD, La Porte ISD, and Texas City ISD receive Snack Attack Packs if district personnel determine they are facing food insufficiencies and need a nutritional boost outside the school day.
The food is ordered from local-area H-E-B stores, shrink-wrapped on pallets, picked up by designated committee members, brought to the chapter’s resale shop, assembled and packaged by both teen and adult volunteers, and distributed to the school districts by an additional group of committee members.
