Bay Area Houston Alumnae Chapter – Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Donates Clothing and Accessories to Bolster Ready for Work Program

Bay Area Houston Alumnae Chapter-Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a wonderful partner of Assistance League® of the Bay Area!

The chapter’s 2024 HOPE Award recipient chose to collect clothing and accessories for the Ready to Work philanthropic program. This program provides interview and job-appropriate attire for individuals re-entering the workforce.

President Linda Byrd said, “They donated clothing, shoes, and jewelry beyond our wildest imagination. Their contribution was tremendous, and we are incredibly grateful for their support, kindness, and willingness to donate these lovely items to support our program.”

Sorority members participating in the delivery were Monet Newsome, Monica Fenner (1st Vice President), Tiffany Taylor-Lee (President), Shirleen McEwen-Law, Toronna Hammond, and Izella Dornell. Izella, also Assistance League of the Bay Area Vice President Philanthropic Programs, was joined by Linda Byrd (President), Cindy Senger-Lewis (President-Elect), Terry Overcash (Vice President Operations), Ina Lachmann (Ready for Work Chair), Deb Hernandez Karam, and LaBita Boddie (Resale Shop Vice Chair).
