Birthday in a Box is a philanthropic initiative founded in 2005 to bring joy to students who might not have the opportunity to celebrate their birthdays.

The program began by serving the students of McWhirter Elementary in Clear Creek ISD. Each ‘box’ includes a small gift, a personalized note, a colorful card, and various party supplies. These boxes are distributed to students involved in the Communities In Schools – Bay Area initiative, which supports at-risk youth in the community.

Over the years, the program has successfully expanded its reach. Initially starting with McWhirter, it later incorporated students from League City Elementary. Recognizing the growing need, the program’s membership voted to extend its services to the Dickinson Independent School District. As a result, each month, Assisteens assemble these birthday kits, which are then delivered to K.E. Little Elementary and San Leon Elementary.
