Through Partnerships, 380 Assault Survivor Kits Distributed during the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year

The National Coalition on Domestic Violence website shares 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in the United States have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner; in Texas specifically, 40.1% of Texas women and 34.9% of Texas men experience intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner rape, or intimate partner stalking in their lifetimes.

Assistance League® of the Bay Area supports our Assault Survivor Kit® philanthropic program partners, Bay Area Turning Point, The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Jerry Garcia Harris County Constable Precinct 2, League City Police Department, Memorial Hermann Southeast Campus, and UTMB Health in Galveston. By providing kits containing clothing, undergarments, flip-flops, and a hygiene kit, we support adults and children forced to surrender their clothing for evidentiary purposes after an assault.

For the 2023-2024 fiscal year, three hundred eighty (380) kits assembled by the committee members were delivered to their facilities.
