Assisteens® of the Bay Area believe that companion animals in shelters who are hoping for their own families should receive support through donations of food and supplies.
The auxiliary’s Cause for Paws philanthropic program aims to make a difference in the League City Animal Care shelter’s inventory levels through these donations. Twenty-eight (28) members delivered food and supplies over the year.
Another way the organization supports the dogs and cats in residence at the League City Shelter and Bay Area Pet Adoptions is by assembling pet adoption kits, which are delivered to these program partners throughout the school year.
These kits are given to the families when they select their new pets, and they contain items to kickstart their new home experience. 350 adoption kits were delivered to these two shelters over the course of the year.
Thank you to adult liaisons, Jennifer Broddle, Renee McCoy, and Teresa Teaster, and teen liaisons, Maggie Lin and Zachary Polansky, for your leadership this year!
