Assisteens Attend National Conference at California State University – Fullerton

In June, three officers from Assisteens of the Bay Area attended the 2017 National Assisteens Conference at California State University – Fullerton.  Of the 40+ chapters, 15 from across the country were able to attend.

This year’s theme, Building Bridges, was introduced by Keynote speaker Carolyn Carpenter, Executive Director and founding partner of New Ensemble Theatre, the founder and creator of the award-winning mega hit MOTEL 6 Feet Under Haunted House, the founder and CEO of Midnight Table Talks, and the founder of Hi Tech Haunts.  Workshops through the weekend focused on how to build bridges through effective communication and the use of social media, fostering teamwork, and diminishing cliques. The Assisteens also had the opportunity to share ideas on fundraising, philanthropic programs, and running effective meetings. In addition other workshops focused on budgeting and setting realistic goals for chapter finances.   The weekend was not all business; the teens were able to network with their peers during an ice cream social, build your own taco night, and game night.
