It was a dark and stormy night! Well, maybe misty and humid for the kick-off of Legacy of Literacy at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church Trunk or Treat Halloween event.
Six Assistance League members and seven Assisteens distributed treats and over 647 books to over 360 young trick-or-treaters. The children were allowed to select as many books as they wished and many returned to our table more than once. Stated one young student, “All my books were ruined in the flooding. Thank you!”
