Birthday in a Box Provides An Opportunity for At-Risk Students to Celebrate Important Milestone

Assisteens® enjoy connecting with elementary students through the auxiliary’s Birthday-in-a-Box philanthropic program.

After the adult liaisons shop for the supplies, on the day of the meeting, the teen liaisons help unload the items, set up the assembly, and participate in the activity once the membership meeting concludes. Those who sign up to work, along with the teen liaison, decorate a card, write a birthday greeting, and package everything in colorful bags to be delivered the following day to four campuses, two in Clear Creek ISD and two in Dickinson ISD.

In addition to the greeting, a small gift and a party kit containing cake mix, icing, cupcake liners, paper goods, and candles are provided, giving the students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to celebrate their birthday.
