The Assistance League Secret Santa Squad delivered holiday gifts to low-income seniors in 17 long-term care facilities in Bend, La Pine, Redmond and Sisters.  Facility representatives spoke directly to their residents in order to obtain personalized gift information, including size, color and interests.  Gift requests included items such as lap blankets, sweaters, hats, books, puzzles, art supplies etc. Our members and community volunteers shopped for 372 seniors this year which is a 40% increase over last year.  Assistance League of Bend has been providing the holiday gifts for more than 15 years but with the pandemic it seemed especially important to bring holiday cheer to these isolated seniors.  Watch here to see the Secret Santa Squad Delivery on News Channel 21.
