The Assistance League of Flagstaff Public Relations Committee initiated the first Thrift Store Crawl in celebration of National Non-Profit Thrift Store Day on August 17, 2023. We worked with six other local thrift shops to create a Passport starting August 1 and broke all sales records on our opening weekend. We had the support of the local Arizona Daily Sun, a Proclamation from our Mayor’s Office as well as the enthusiasm of our loyal and newly discovered customers. The event culminated in Mayor Becky Daggett helping us draw six gift basket winners from the over 200 participants who submitted their passports, having visited at least four of the stores. We hope to make the Crawl an annual tradition and include all the Flagstaff non-profit thrift stores in 2024.
