This is great news. DreamCatchers auxiliary was featured on the front page of the Huntington Beach City Manager’s Report for their amazing donation to seniors in need. DreamCatchers started the philanthropic program Support our Seniors in 2003. DreamCatchers work with Senior Center of Huntington Beach care managers to provide grocery gift cards and OCTA bus passes. Additionally, they provide gift bags twice a year filled with essentials for seniors in need. In October, a DreamCatchers member, Connie Hitchcock, presented a fundraising concept – Make a Difference Support our Seniors. The initial goal was $2,020. When the fundraiser ended on November 30th, $10,385 was raised. The funds were presented to Randy Pesqueira, Senior Center Director, and Michelle Yerke, Social Worker. Mr. Pesqueira wrote an article about the donation which made the first page of the Huntington Beach City Manager’s Report.
