The Assistance League of North Coast recently received a grant for $29,075 from The Carlsbad Charitable Foundation. Though the efforts of Angela Bear, the Chairperson of the Grant Committee with the support of Mona Ackerman, Resource Development, our request for funding was granted. These funds will be used to allow an additional 200 students in Oceanside, Carlsbad and Vista to participate in our Clothing for Children shopping trips for new school clothes at JCPenneys. Since 2008, the Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $1.2 million dollars to over 50 programs. Other organizations receiving awards was a program that provides the homeless with the opportunity to shower using a trailer outfitted with 2 private showers, and dressing rooms along with providing health services. Other recipients included several nutrition programs and the Boys and Girls Club. We are immensely grateful to The Carlsbad Charitable Foundation for this money which will allow us to serve so many more deserving children.
