Assistance League of Reno-Sparks was proud to provide gifts for the 6th annual Veterans Baby Shower sponsored by the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System. As an initial supporter of this event six years ago, we’re glad to see how it has grown, with support from other community organizations as well, including the VFW, Carson City Elks, Reno Elks, and the VA Hospital.
Assistance League provided 31 filled diaper bags as well as gift bags containing handmade blankets, a book, and a stuffed animal. Each veteran received two large boxes of diapers.
Thirteen Assistance League members helped each family carry the items, using dollies and carts, to their cars.
Veterans came from Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Air National Guard, Marines and Army.
