The Fig Tree Restaurant selected Assistance League of Charlotte’s Operation School Bell program to be the beneficiary of their first Charity Pancake Breakfast. Customers attending the breakfast donated either a new winter coat or $10. The staff worked without pay and donated their personal tips to the program. Community support was overwhelming; a gentleman approached a chapter member and asked if he could write a check for a donation even though he didn’t go in for breakfast. The Operation School Bell Award was presented to the Fig Tree Restaurant on May 18, 2016.
