2025 MCTC Recognition Award Application Form

 

Eligibility:

This recognition award is open to Mecklenburg County Teen Court (MCTC) student volunteers graduating high school who have volunteered for a minimum of eight (8) sessions and are currently active (March 2024 – February 28, 2025), regardless of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability status.

Selection of Recipients:

Applicants are expected to complete the application and meet all requirements set forth in the application.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by phone call or e-mail.

Submission Requirements:

1. Two (2) signed letters of recommendation emailed by February 28, 2025, to chrisb941@gmail.com

• • One letter from a teacher/counselor
  • One letter from an employer, coach, pastor, family friend, or leader of community activities in which you participate

2. Write an essay about how the MCTC experience has impacted you. Did it change your thinking? Your life? Your values? Your interaction with others?

• • Provide specific examples
  • Double spaced and type-written

3. Provide a copy of a letter of acceptance from any accredited trade school, college or university. If you have not yet been accepted, please provide communication from the institution(s) indicating application acknowledgement or reasonable facsimile.

4. Please submit your completed application online with the photo, essay and letter of acceptance (or reasonable facsimile) attached. Your reference letters should be-emailed to chrisb941@gmail.com
