What is Assisteens® of Chaves County?
Assisteens is a 4-year teen auxiliary of Assistance League of Chaves County. Membership is co-ed and involves learning to serve others in the community where we live, gaining leadership skills, and developing lasting friendships. Members enjoy volunteering with the Down Syndrome Foundation of Southeastern New Mexico, making fleece blankets for CASA, ushering at the Roswell Symphony Orchestra and many other philanthropic programs. We are a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to providing services to enrich and improve the quality of life within our community. Each Assisteens Auxiliary may choose their own programs and assist the chapter with their programs and fundraisers.
At monthly meetings Assisteens also attend a wide variety of presentations about such topics as personal safety, etiquette, CPR/Project Heart Start and how to prepare for an interview. Assisteens hold a yearly food drive for Harvest Ministries and are involved in a fundraiser to help with Assistance League’s Operation School Bell® Program.
