When Assistance League of the Chesapeake member Kim Hudyma heard that the Severna Park, Maryland, library had books to give away, a lightbulb went off. She knew this donation would fit in perfectly with our Legacy of Literacy Project. Every year, we collect gently used books and distribute them to local Title I schools, and local boys and girls clubs. Kim’s team, which included Cindy Culp, Linda LaCroix, Chris Kennison, and Becky Chambliss, sorted and labeled over 1,200 books.
The books were delivered to these schools and facilities:
Belle Grove Elementary
Brooklyn Park Elementary
Germantown Elementary
Hillsmere Elementary
MacArthur Middle School
Meade Middle School
Mills-Parole Elementary
Oakwood Elementary
Sarah’s House
Severn Elementary
Tyler Heights Elementary
