Assistance League of the Chesapeake Kicks Off its Kids In Need Program

Assistance League Members unpack uniforms at the AACPS warehouse, helping students in need.

As summer comes to an end, Assistance League members focus their energy on its hallmark program – providing new school clothing to in-need students in eight local schools. These young students go to Anne Arundel County schools that require them to wear a uniform: khaki pants, a blue polo shirt and a blue sweatshirt. Assistance League provides all of these, free of charge, to close to 3,500 students each year. They also throw in socks (donated by Bombas) and underwear. The Kids In Need program serves children right in our backyard, helping families that are most in need of assistance. The eight schools we serve believe in the equalizing benefit of uniforms, and Assistance League is right there to provide what is often the only new clothing the child has ever had. Join us in helping children in need by helping to clothe a child. The value of one uniform is $70. Thank you! https://www.assistanceleague.org/chesapeake/kinprogram/
