Our Scholarships

To promote and reward community service in our youth, Assistance League of Coppell is proud to offer $1,000 scholarships to three graduating high school seniors who have volunteered their time and talents to improve their community.

Selection Criteria

Selection will be based on community service, character, leadership and the letter of recommendation. One of the three scholarships will be awarded to a member of our Assisteens or a child of an Assistance League of Coppell member who has been a member for at least one year. The other two scholarships will be chosen out of all the applications received. Grades or financial need are not considered.

To Apply

Applicants must complete the scholarship application, submit a resume and a recent unofficial transcript. You also need a supervisor or project leader with your volunteer organization submit a letter of recommendation.

The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Scholarship award recipients will be notified no later than May 5, 2025.

Applicants

  • Keep your answers to 300 words or less.
  • Your resume should clearly specify your volunteer work and the length of time and/or hours you’ve volunteered for the organization(s).  You should also list any leadership roles you’ve held throughout high school, your extracurricular activities and any honors and awards you have received.

Letter of Recommendation 

  • The letter of recommendation must be emailed from a supervisor/project leader of one of the service organizations where you volunteer. The letter should reflect your responsibilities as a volunteer and how you served the organization, any self-initiated roles, and your unique contribution to the organization. The letter may not be from any organization in which you have received financial compensation and/or school credit.

The letter of recommendation should be emailed to alcoppellscholarship@gmail.com along with the cover letter below. Please put “Scholarship” in the subject line. Who Is Eligible

You must be a senior who is graduating from Coppell Independent School District, or you may reside in Coppell and attend a public or private high school elsewhere.

You must plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university, a community or junior college, or state licensed trade or technical school.

All graduating seniors, regardless of race, religion or sex, are eligible for consideration upon proper submission of a complete application.

All winners grant permission to have their names and photographs used to publicize the scholarship.

Scholarships must be claimed by January 31, 2026.

The scholarship money will be sent directly to the student’s chosen institution.
