The Assault Survivor Kits® program supports adults and children who are victims of sexual, physical, and/or mental assault by providing new clothes to wear home from medical facilities after their own clothing is retained by law enforcement officers for evidence.
Approximately 300 kits are assembled by ALCV chapter members each year and distributed through Project Sister Family Services, a philanthropic Outreach program.
The adult kits assembled in colorful reusable bags include:
- sweatpants and sweatshirt
- flip-flops
- personal hygiene items
- a note pad and pen
- a cuddly teddy bear
The childrens’ kits, assembled in backpacks include:
- sweatshirt and/or sweatpants
- flip-flops
- a small blanket
- coloring/activity book and crayons
- a cuddly teddy bear
