We welcome your interest in learning about Assistance League of East Valley.
We are an all volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which exists to use its collective strength to assist and serve residents of the East Valley community. Assistance League has 120 chapters nationwide.
Our philanthropic programs include providing new clothing, shoes and hygiene kits to more than 8,890 schoolchildren. We also provide new clothing, hygiene kits and other items such as blankets, diapers and cleaning supplies for survivors of assault and domestic violence. Monthly socials are held at an adult daycare facility. We sponsor spelling bees in Gilbert and Tempe, and provide scholarships for students at East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) and to students attending Mesa Community College.
Regular meetings of the memberships are held on the third Monday of each month (except July and August). From 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. we have a social time. Our meetings start at 10:00 a.m.
Members are asked to serve on at least one committee, encouraged to volunteer in the Assistance League Thrift Shop, and also to participate in fundraising activities. These activities include providing names for our Direct Mail campaign and attending our special Fall and Spring events.
Dues are $70. The fiscal year runs from June 1 to May 31. Orientation for new members is held in early fall and again in early winter for people joining after November.
The benefits for belonging to our organization are countless, but do include the opportunity to make a real impact in our community serving those in need while at the same time making new friends, learning new skills, and keeping healthy!!
