At Assistance League of Georgetown Area, we understand the challenges educators face, particularly the strain of limited resources and funding. Many teachers spend their own money to fill the gaps, often sacrificing essential classroom activities. Our Assist a Teacher program aims to alleviate these burdens through two innovative initiatives being piloted in Florence ISD and Granger ISD during the 2024-2025 school year.
Assistance League Teacher Education Grants PreK-12
- Eligible School Districts: Granger ISD, Florence ISD
- Purpose: This grant program provides funds for a variety of educational needs, including materials, speakers, supplies, books, software, and field trips. All purchases must comply with district guidelines, including IT requirements.
- Application Period: October 1, 2024 – October 31, 2024, until 5:00 p.m.
- Notification Dates: Winners will be notified between January 6 – 20, 2025.
- Usage: Funds must be utilized within the current school year.

Assistance League Just-in-Time Teacher Assistance PreK-5
- Eligible School Districts: Granger ISD, Florence ISD
- Purpose: This initiative provides immediate access to essential classroom supplies, such as glue sticks, pencils, dry-erase markers, facial tissues, paper, hand sanitizer, crayons, and colored pencils. The goal is to alleviate the financial burden on teachers, ensuring they have the necessary resources to create an effective learning environment.
