Authors and Illustrators

Authors and Illustrators are invited into local schools to share their books and skills with children. The books being presented are read prior to the event in the school library. The books are also available for sale at the end of the school day. Depending on school size, 1,700 to 2,900 students receive these presentations a year.

Operation School Bell®

This program was adopted in 1981 to provide clothing for school-age children in need through request from local schools. At its inception, only elementary school students were receiving clothes, now in its prime middle school aged children are also receiving clothing. Children are brought by bus to the chapter house where they try on and receive three complete sets of clothing, a hygiene kit, socks, underwear, a voucher for shoes and a book.
