Sneakers for Military Preschoolers was created to support low income military families and to address these needs.

In partnership with STEP (Support the Enlisted Program) a non- profit accredited organization that provides counseling, emergency grants, and food and goods to military families, we distribute shoes, Bombas socks, sweatshirts and pants, pajamas, tee shirts, swimsuits, winter jackets and new age-appropriate books to three-to-five-year-olds of pre-qualified military families. These distributions occur four times a year and are done at the STEP facility.

California has one of the highest concentrations of American military personnel in the world and is ranked as the 4th highest state in the nation for cost of living. We are honored to serve the families of those who serve us.

San Diego has over 115,000 active-duty personnel and 118,300 military family members, with 60.7% of them being children. Approximately 60% of junior enlisted service members salaries are considered low income by the US Housing and Urban Development Department. Many of them rely on food banks and local community charity organizations to meet their monthly expenses.
