Play at the Beach, a primary fundraiser of Assistance League of Greater Wilmington, is a fun-filled February day at the beach for the community at large. Individuals can assemble tables of four and can play games of their choosing such as bridge, mahjong or Mexican Train. The cost is $35.00 per person and includes a buffet lunch.  Participants can also purchase raffle tickets for themed gift baskets and bid on silent auction items.  Play at the Beach in 2017 was a sell out at Shell Island, attracting 240 participants and 20 volunteers from Assistance League of Greater Wilmington.
