Five local elementary schools will receive $1,000 each to purchase new materials and equipment through our “You Gotta Have HeART!” program:  Mary Washington Howe Pre-K Center, Malpass Corner Elementary School, and Mary C. Williams Elementary School (all in New Hanover County), plus Supply Elementary School (Brunswick County) and Winter Park Elementary School (Pender County).

Designed to improve and enhance the school’s  visual arts programs, the event included a fundraiser at the Thrift Shop with a student art display featuring the work of students of two of last year’s award recipients, Belville Elementary School (Brunswick County) and Cape Fear Elementary School (Pender County). The event was part of AL ACTION! Week, a national program held in honor of Assistance League founder, Anne Banning.
