Scholarship

The Scholarship program provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors to assist them with the cost of attending a post-secondary school.  In order to qualify, students must apply, meet specific criteria and attend a high school in one of the school districts served by Assistance League of Kansas City.  The program also awards scholarships to non-traditional students enrolled in community colleges. To qualify, students must meet specific requirements and demonstrate financial need. Applications are available in January of each year.   Application deadline for high school seniors is February 28, 2023.

  • Kearney R-1
  • Liberty
  • North Kansas City
  • North Platte R-1
  • Park Hill
  • Platte County R-3
  • Smithville R-2
  • St. Pius X
  • West Platte R-3
  • Metropolitan Community Colleges of Kansas City

 

In 2021-2022 – 15 students received $30,000 in scholarships, including:

  • Four $1000 scholarships for high school students
  • Three $2000 scholarships for high school students
  • Three $3000 scholarships for high school students
  • One $5000 scholarships for high school students
  • Two $1000 scholarships for returning college students
  • Two $2000 scholarships for returning college students

In 2020-21 – 14 high school students received a total of $35,000 in scholarship monies.

In 2019-20 – 5, $1000 high school student scholarships were awarded and 2, $1000 single parent/reentry scholarships were awarded to students attending Metropolitan Community College.

In 2018-19 – 17, $1000 high school student scholarships were awarded, and 2, $2000 high school scholarships were awarded.

During the inaugural year of 2017-18 – 20, $1000 high school student scholarships were awarded.

The number of scholarships and the amount of each scholarship may vary depending on Assistance League’s revenue annually.
