Chapter Members

In 1940, Assistance League of Long Beach was chartered as the fifth chapter of National Assistance League.  Since then, chapter members have provided ever-expanding services to the Long Beach community.  Several auxiliaries support chapter’s philanthropic programs and offer valuable programs of their own. Chapter’s philanthropic programs include ALa Carte, Kids on the Block, Operation School Bell®, the Orthodontic Program, Launching Literacy, Vocational Training and Scholarships.  Chapter members conduct tours of the Howard and Asian Art Collection for middle school students.

Chapter members also operate the Thrift & Vintage Shop on 4th Street at Cherry Avenue, which is open five days a week.  Proceeds from the shop support the operation of the organization.
