Each month an Assistance League member is chosen to be our Very Valuable Volunteer (VVV). Karen Jenks was our VVV for the month of August. She has accomplished a lot since joining our chapter in 2014. She has served in the Thrift Shop in many capacities, including scheduling. She’s been on the Finance Committee, chaired Links to Learning Richfield, and was instrumental as co-chair on our expansion into the Richfield Public Schools.
Always willing to step up, she recently served on the Nominating Committee; and at the start of this year, when the Member Communications job was vacant, Karen stepped up and made sure the member newsletter came out each month. Some members join because their mom is an AL member. In this case within a few months she brought her Mom to our membership!
Members describe her as talented, super organized, no nonsense, hard-working, but fun loving and a joy to work with. Her current job title, VP Marketing, Communications and Technology, tells us a lot about her ability to take on many roles at once.
Congratulations, Karen!
