In 2016 our Assistance League chapter was very lucky to gain new member Nancy Kloehn. She immediately became immersed in several of our programs such as Literacy+, Assault Survivor Kits, and the Public Relations/Marketing Committee. Nancy, also, volunteers at the Thrift Shop in many capacities. She is on the Counting Committee, schedules volunteers’ shifts, and even makes signs for the shop. As a member of the Academic All Stars program, she is the event photographer and develops all of the photos of each student. Another role Nancy has taken on this year is that of Assistant Treasurer-Revenue, a vital position in keeping our funds well-managed.
Maintaining an organized warehouse is a big and important job that Nancy volunteered to do both last year and again this year for Clothes for Kids. She, also, joined an ad hoc team to help review the Clothes for Kids expansion opportunities and then launch the pilot program at Nellie Stone Johnson School. It was so successful that it is being rolled out to all Clothes for Kids partner schools this fall. Our chapter has benefitted greatly from her no-nonsense approach to getting things done!
A big CONGRATULATIONS goes to Nancy Kloehn for being our Very Valuable Volunteer in December.
