Operation School Bell® Links to Learning Receives Grant

Following a rigorous application process, our chapter recently received a $15,000 grant from Giving WoMN to support our Operation School Bell® Links to Learning teacher grant program.  Thank you to all those who were involved in the application process as well as those who have made Links to Learning an outstanding program worthy of support.

We were encouraged to apply for the Giving WoMN grant by Nancy Sousa, who is also a member of Giving WoMN. From there, Terri Hudoba and our grant writer went to work on the extensive application. After clearing the first round of application review, Sandy Warner, Mary Dries, and Terri Hudoba met several representatives at our Assistance League® Thrift Shop to answer further questions about our organization and  our Links to Learning program. 

In June, we were invited to submit a video showcasing our organization and addressing how the Giving WoMN grant would impact our Links to Learning program. In addition to Assistance League, six other organizations in the Twin Cities area received a grant: Dress for Success Twin Cities, Listening House of St. Paul, Prepare + Prosper, Sojourner, Tech Dump, and The Lift Garage. 

Giving WoMN is a member-driven, pooled fund, grant-making organization that has donated over $1.5 million since 2006. Its primary goals are to educate women about philanthropy and, through collective giving, make impact grants in its community to address pressing unmet needs.
