This spring with the shutting down of schools and front-line workers busy on the job,
school districts stepped up to provide care for essential workers’ children. The staff at
the schools worked tirelessly to take care of the children so their parents could focus on
their jobs.
Once again, our chapter members asked the school districts what they needed. The
response from the school districts was to support and recognize their Essential Care
Site employees. In Richfield, we supplied Pizza Luce gift cards to the district so that
they could have lunch delivered to their staff at their three Essential Care Sites. We
received the following thank you note from Kathy Soucy of Richfield:
“I know our staff will be really moved by the thoughtfulness of these gift cards. Our staff
has been working really hard during this time to keep the kids of the
emergency/essential workers well cared for during the day! Please pass our thanks on
to your entire group!”
Thanks to all members of Assistance League Minneapolis/St. Paul for your support and
willingness to meet the needs of our partners whatever they may be. You are making a
difference in the communities we serve!
