This Very Valuable Volunteer joined Assistance League in 2010. She was a Clothes for Kids school liaison for many years and chaired the event for at least two years. She was often a shopper for special sizes and made sure that the clothes not only fit right but made the students feel special.
She is a quiet leader with so much knowledge of the Thrift Shop. She has been Shop Manager, Day Manager and before COVID she single-handedly ran our online eBay store and had a 100% rating with over 600 items sold. This high rating allowed us to jump back into eBay right where we left off. Her tireless efforts have given us an outlet for higher end merchandise. She sees the future for the Thrift Shop using the internet to sell items, while embracing the past with her love of vintage and antique items.
This year she has gone above and beyond to make sure the Shop is successful. She has been an invaluable resource to the new Online Team, lending her wisdom and suggestions, actively participating in the researching, deciding and listing process, and remains an active member of that team.
So many people give a lot of their time and energy to the Shop, but this lovely lady stands out as going above and beyond. Never one to look for the spotlight, the credit or for someone else to get it done, she is ready to help the customer, encourage the volunteer, answer the questions about fabric/fit/fashion or a collectible item…she is always a go to person at the Shop and now with the Online Shop!
Please help me congratulate the August Very Valuable Volunteer, Amy Stark!
