This month’s VVV is an avid biking and tennis enthusiast. She is also a member of the Edina Garden Council. She joined the Assistance League in 2020 and accepted the call to be co-chair of the ASK Committee for 2021-2022. As with every program, COVID caused some big changes (and headaches) in the ASK program. When the Minnesota Hospital Association could no longer provide space for the pack, she was faced with the daunting challenge of finding a new site. Along with her co-chair she established a new relationship with Health Partners to use their corporate headquarters to sponsor the pack. She also helped get patient inserts translated into 3 additional languages.
At the request of the Minneapolis Police Department, she eagerly extended the scope of ASK. The Minneapolis police wanted new bedding for victims of sexual assault whose sheets and coverlets were taken for evidence. She quickly added these items to the ASK budget and delivered them to the police coordinator.
When an additional request came to further expand ASK to sponsor needs at the Sojouner Project she didn’t hesitate to get her committee on board. She met all of the challenges with an eagerness and “let’s get this done” attitude. She is a hard worker, a pleasure to work with and committed to help the Assistance League make a difference in the local community.
Congratulations to our September Very Valuable Volunteer, Linda Kuno!
