This month’s Very Valuable Volunteer is an avid gardener, reader, cat lover, and an enthusiastic traveler. She was elected to the Richfield City Council and served on a variety of city commissions for forty years.
She was a customer of the Thrift Shop for many years. Upon retirement in 2019, she joined the Assistance League where she put her Business Administration background to good use. She jumped right in to tirelessly perform the BIG job of “Assistant Treasurer Other.” That means she handles and distributes all the mail that comes into the Thrift Shop and keeps track of all non-Thrift Shop checks in addition to depositing these checks regularly in the bank. It’s not always easy to keep Open Your Heart, grants, social committee, and membership dues straight. During the Covid shutdown, she made weekly trips to the Post Office to pick up mail, process checks and make bank deposits. She even got to be on a first-name basis with some postal employees. Last spring, in addition to her regular AL duties, she had the added job of dealing with all the 25th Anniversary check donations coming in. Thankfully, we had a lot of checks and she put in the extra time and effort graciously.
She is a wonderful contributor to the unsung heroes of the Treasurer Team and is a behind the scenes star! Please help us congratulate the November Very Valuable Volunteer, Susan Rosenberg!
