Our Very Valuable Volunteer this month is characterized as a gentle, quiet, steady worker bee, always willing-to-go- the-extra-mile volunteer and wonderful friend. She joined Assistance League in 2016 and immediately joined the Open Your Heart Committee. She had great ideas for the letter writing campaign, and thoughtful input to help make each campaign a success. This year she has worked tirelessly not only as a member of the Committee, but serving as the Co-Chair of Open Your heart!
For several years she was the Co-Chair of Our School Reads. She and her Co-Chair organized the purchase, packing and distribution of 2800 copies of Because of Winn Dixie to all 4th graders in the Minneapolis schools who were all reading the book at the same time. She is described as incredibly organized, financially very capable of working within the budget, but most of all a great companion to work with.
She has been a money counter at the Thrift Shop and has volunteered for 5 years as a regular member of the Hospitality Committee–always early to help set up and helpful with so many aspects of getting the food, centerpieces, and settings out and the tables readied. She was invaluable in planning the 25-year centerpiece flower scheme and table settings.
Let’s congratulate our December Very Valuable Volunteer, Catherine Reddin!
