Our January Very Valuable Volunteer joined Assistance League in June, 2020, and immediately started volunteering at the Thrift Shop, working many shifts in the Back Room during the pandemic. she began organizing, improving and doing the orders for Clothes for Kids+ for two schools which helped provide the students with needed clothing supplies. She then joined the Links to Learning committee and became a valuable member helping to determine how the funds would be granted to the most deserving applicants which helps increase student achievement. Not surprisingly, she said YES when asked to take over the chair position for Links to Learning this year and make more improvements by providing flexibility in meeting the needs of over 100 teachers and influencing hundreds of students. Our Links budget of $80,000 is being well tended under the direction of this chair.

Wait a minute….did I refer to this VVV as “SHE”? I meant to use the pronoun “THEY”, because these two members do everything together! They are great friends, joined AL together, and chair together! In addition to their wonderful leadership and organizational skills, they bring enthusiasm and humor to all that they do.
