Fashionable hats, baskets brimming with goodies, silent auction thrills and a terrific style show featuring our volunteer models attired in outfits from the Assistance League Thrift Shop – all this fun was had on April 22 at the Minneapolis Women’s Rotary Style Show and Benefit Luncheon!
The Minneapolis Women’s Rotary awarded a two-year grant to three nonprofits of which Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul was one. Each will benefit from the proceeds of The Minneapolis Women’s Rotary annual fundraising luncheon held this spring and next.
Angela Carlson, a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (S.A.N.E. nurse) from Regions Hospital, spoke on behalf of Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul. She gave a moving account of how Assault Survivor Kits® which include toiletries and clothing affect the sexual assault survivors with whom she works.
This year the Derby themed fundraiser included a fashion show. Some of the models were Assistance League member volunteers who modeled outfits curated from clothing, shoes, and accessories for sale on Assistance League’s Online Thrift Shop. You can find these items while they last by following this link: https://www.ebay.com/str/shopalmplsstpaul. As always, proceeds from the sale of these and all items on Assistance League’s Online Store help fund its local community programs.
