With social distancing in place, the spring ASK (Assault Survivor Kits) pack looked a little different. A strong, capable team of three made sure that there would be kits to replenish the Minnesota Hospital Association’s supply of Assault Survivor Kits for the summer.
Peggy Borowski started the process rolling by ordering the supplies needed for the 170 kits that were requested. As the orders arrived, Nancy Kloehn’s garage filled with boxes of kit components including sweatshirts, tee shirts, briefs, bras, and socks. In the meantime, Carol Fink assembled the toiletry kits for the pack at her home and then delivered them to Nancy.
Together the team of Carol and Nancy along with Nancy’s son, Rob, who was home visiting, assembled 145 kits for ASK observing social distancing. Carol and Nancy then delivered the assembled kits to the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) on June 3. Sara Bohnet at the MHA was glad to receive the kits and was grateful to have Nancy and Carol stock their shelves as their staff, with the exception of a receptionist, is now working offsite.
Due to some items being backordered, a second delivery of 25 kits was made on June 10th to complete the MHA request.
Thanks to the ASK Committee – Carol, Nancy, and Peggy – for a job well done!
