The Assistance League® of Nashville held its Fall Fundraiser/Annual Author’s Luncheon on September 5, 2019 at the Richland Country Club. The event was an overwhelming success as it raised a gross profit of $103,539.69 to support the Chapter’s philanthropic programs that serve the needs of children in the Metro Nashville area.
Attendees had the privilege of hearing Mary Laura Philpott, the author of: “I Miss You When I Blink”, and Megan Cusson-Lark, Metro Nashville Public Schools head of counselling. Ms. Philpott shared an inspirational talk about the overlap of the absurd and the profound in life, literature, and culture as a perfectionist. Ms. Cusson-Lark shared information about how Assistance League of Nashville programs impact MNPS children.
In addition to the Author speaker, attendees, the luncheon featured a Silent Auction which included local art, fine jewelry and accessories, vacation “stays”, many gift cards for local shops and restaurants, a Dolly Parton autographed guitar and many other items.
