ALNC is extremely grateful for receiving a $25,000 grant at an awards ceremony on June 12th . This grant was made possible by the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation, an affiliate of San Diego Foundation. The grant was made at the recommendation of Carlsbad Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors and by the approval of San Diego Foundation’s Board of Governors for the Footsteps Program. Grants committee chair, Matthew Anderson, and board chair Bret Schanzenbach presented the award to our chairpersons of Footsteps, Fran Tovar, and Jim and Ann Connelly.
We extend many thanks to Angela Bear for all the time she put into writing the grant and arranging the interview with members of our chapter and board members of Carlsbad grant committee. The grant should provide over 800 pairs of shoes for school age children in Carlsbad.
